In addition to the inauguration and a valedictory closing session, there will be 12 parallel sessions
under 5 grand thematic areas at the 2nd Conference on Bangladesh Energy prosperity 2050.

Policy Coherence

Updating and Approving PP2041, NEP, NDC and REP; Revision of IEPMP and MCPP; Revision of Policies for Transition in Transport and Industry.

Institutional Reform

Formation of Renewable Energy Division (RED); Capacity Building of SREDA and BERC; Institutionalization of emission tracking and testing of RE accessories; Corruption, Transparency and Accountability of energy-related institutions.

Financial Arrangements

Potential financial sources for rapid transition include ADP allocation, special funds, soft loans, public equity investments and green taxes, and providing subsidies and Feed-in-tariffs; Domestic and International finance, including scheduled banks, NBFIs, ADB, AIIB, GCF and World Bank.

Bilateral & Multilateral Cooperation

Maximizing benefits of multilateralism: BIMSTEC, CVF, ETC, GREEP, SAARC, and UN Systems; Getting support for Energy Transition from bilateral partners, including China, the European Union, India, Japan, Korea, the UK and the USA.

Social and Environmental Considerations

Land scarcity, land management and long-term land leasing for Renewables; Independent scrutiny and disclosure of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments; Rights of the laborers, gender and local small and marginal producers.
